In an intimate performance by the Byron Stripling Quartet featuring Bobby Floyd, audiences will be immersed in a night of blues culture and inspiration. As an additional avenue to the Blues for Smoke exhibit into the extensive impact of blues as musical and artistic propulsion, the artistic director of the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, Byron Stripling, will not only display his energetic trumpet and directing skills, but portray the way in which jazz music seeds in the soil of the blues genre. With a cocktail hour and tour before the show, audiences are sure to obtain a sensory appetite for the soulful jazz of the Byron Stripling Quartet.
